Home from Vacation

I just returned home from a fantastic vacation in Scotland and England. I went with Michelle and we had a blast! The weather, food, culture, etc. was fantastic. Being 50% Scottish, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to visit Scotland again. Too many years went by between my visits. We walked all day taking in all the beautiful sites. Of course, when the feet got tired, we popped into a pub for a pint. If you have not had a chance to visit the UK, I highly recommend it. We are already planning our next trip back to Scotland!

Early Spring Cleaning!

So we're in the process of cleaning out the shop, putting items that have been sitting for a while on sale, and buying away to get fresh new merchandise! It's an exciting time as we have a lot of great pieces currently available and a lot more on the way! At the same time, we continue moving forward with our new concept that I been have talking about frequently.

WAY too long!

I know, I know...I said that I would do a better job at blogging more often and it has been a month since my last blog. Not good! OK, here I go. The past month has really been great in many personal and business ways as well. So much great news was offered over the past month and of course who can't forget about the weather! The snow has been a lot of fun, although I can do away with having to drive in it like I did last week. I hope everyone made it home safely.

I am still aggressively working on my new concept and participated in a conference call with some great new friends in New York who want to team up with JP's concept. So, a trip is scheduled again for the end of February to meet with our new friends, take a tour, learn more about their company and talk about our next steps. As you can imagine, there is a lot of excitement with JP's right now and I can't wait until you join the excitement! I can't reveal the concept just yet as there is still a lot of work to do but I really do hope you like and visit frequently.

So, enjoy each day. Laugh and enjoy every moment. Life is good!

Determining the Age of Antique Furniture

It's been a busy couple of weeks, hence, my limited number of blogs....SORRY! I hope everyone is continuing to enjoy the holidays! It really is a fun time of the year. It's alomost 2011, now that's amazing. It's going to be another good year, I can feel it.

I came across this great article that you might find helpful as you are visiting antique shops and trying to determine the age of certain pieces. Take a few minutes and read through it and maybe even print it off. Feel free to use this article when you are in an antique shop.

Christmas is Next Weekend!

Can you believe how quickly Christmas has arrived! It's only a week away! Is your shopping done? If not, don't stress over it. Make the holidays about spending time with family and friends and not so much about the material things. However, a little something is nice to exchange for Christmas : ) ......just no need to go overboard with the gifts.

Then, it's New Years and we are in 2011, that fast! 2011 is going to great!

Well, I better get back to work as it's a busy day here. ENJOY!

COLD in VA!

Wow! It is COLD today! There was even some snow on the ground this morning. Further North, the schools were 2 hours delayed. Hmmmm...is this any indication of a snowy and cold winter? I don't mind because I am a big kid and love the snow!

Today was yet another productive day. I remind myself that when there is something that you really want, no matter how hard the work is involved to get there, it's worth it. Stay positive, stay focused and everything will come together. If it's meant to be, then it's meant to be. I was told that again today and I agree!

Tomorrow is an auction and I am so tempted to go. I will take a look through the pictures again and see if this one is worthwhile. Perhaps I will wait until Friday's auction. So, if there is something you are looking for, just let me know!

Oh yeah, the antique shops in NY, AWESOME! Can't wait to go back and peruse.
